about

BIO
Ezekiel James Hampton creates compositions that hint at a familiar nostalgia that suggests you've heard these sounds before perhaps as a musical score in your dreams or in the fuzzy, romanticized memories of childhood. These songs are a musical translation of the inevitable melancholy that comes with not being able to capture and hold onto a moment. Ezekiel has worked with ambient stalwarts Chihei Hatakeyama, Robert Rich, and Taylor Duepree. He also produces hip-hop under the name Rad Brown and is the chief songwriter/producer for the cinematic pop project Skylight Motion Picture.

LAMPS OF UNENDING LIGHT
Never trying to duplicate a previous album, Radagast the Brown's fifth album in six years attempts to incorporate more guitar and stringed instruments than before. "Lamps of Unending Light" is a winter album meant to bring audible warmth that parallels the sensation of slinking into your blankets on a late night in January or swallowing a gulp of hot chocolate while you watch the snowfall on tree branches from your living room window. The song titles reflect the themes that Ezekiel/Radagast has wrestled with, which have silently been embedded into the music. Reflecting inwardly isn't always easy because of the exposed vulnerability, lingering pain, and a required brutal honesty. But none of this is more powerful than the hope and gratitude which await at the end. For those who are willing, these compositions are a lubricant for these mini inner-journeys to commence.
